Robotics League Play
Coaches, LEAGUE PLAY IS HERE! Thanks to the generous support of Metropolitan
Community College, the Omaha area will now have FREE League Play events
on November 20th, December 4th and January 15th. In anticipation of
sufficient interest at the middle and high school levels we are breaking
league play into two Leagues, High Tech (High School) and Mid Continent
(Middle School). There are separate registration event pages for each
league and each date. Please make sure you understand the following
before registering: 1) Registration does NOT guarantee participation. Since we don't know
for sure how many teams at each level will be interested in
participating we ask that you sign up any/all your interested teams for
as many dates as you would like with the understanding that if we have
more participation that we can handle we will inform you of which
dates/teams will be guaranteed a spot. We will work with all
schools/programs to ensure equal access for all teams. Thank you in
advance for your understanding and patience. 2) Registration will open on November 2nd and CLOSE on November 14th FOR
ALL EVENTS. We need time to plan/organize and to potentially even out
access. To do so we will need to know your intend for ALL 3 events by
the 14th. Unlike other event registrations registering first will not
be an advantage. We will work with every team that registers by the
cutoff to have equal access. 3) One adult/coach may bring a maximum of 2 teams per event. So if you
have 4 teams coming from your school be sure to recruit another adult to
act as their coach for the day. This is required because coaches will
be responsible for taking turns being match officials. If you have too
many teams to keep track of you will not be able to fulfill this role. 4) Students/coaches will be required to help with setup and cleanup. In
order for us to keep these events free for all, all will need to
assist. Detailed written instructions will be given to each team at
registration. So be sure to get to the events early and leave enough
time for cleanup at the end of the event! 5) Read all docs attached. They give very valuable insights on how the
league events will be run. 6) League standings will be kept and published on MCC's website, and the
Omaha World Herald Online Edition. 7) League Champions in each of five categories (Driver Skills,
Programming Skills, Head-to-Head, Overall team, Overall School) will
qualify for the U.S. National Robotics Championship on March 10th-12th.
