Opportunity with UNO involving Marketing and Programming

October 1st from 5:30-7:30

Nebraska Research Initiative Project called Project MATTERS (Mobile Applications Transforming Teaching, Engagement and Research for Students). As you know, the project will seek to develop a prototype mobile application for both the Nebraska Strategic Air and Space Museum - SASM (Year 1) and the Henry Doorly Zoo (Year 2). Once we have the process down, and an app development well underway and refined, we will turn our attention to the Zoo effort. Both phases will be a collaborative effort between UNO students and faculty, UNL 4H Extension, and selected students and teachers from Papillion-La Vista Schools.

For the first museum effort, we had several quick rounds of conversations today, and we have settled on Monday, October 1st, from 5:30 pm to 7:30 pm, at the SASM. We would like you to participate if at all possible for this first brainstorming meeting. If desired, the high school teachers can also bring a few students if you would like (please limit to just a few for this meeting).

The plan for the evening of October 1st is to primarily use the two hour time frame to walk around the museum for a bit first, and then to brainstorm mobile app ideas. These ideas would be recorded (either by paper or on an electronic form). The leadership group will then take these ideas back and decide a bit more on the initial parameters of the project. We will also of course often defer to the IS&T team on what is feasible, as well as what might work best from technical perspective, etc.
